Corporate governance encompasses the system by which an organisation is controlled and operates, and the mechanisms by which it, and its people, are held to account.
SIAA is governed by a representative board. The composition of the Board is determined by SIAA’s Constitution as follows:
- Two members of the Board may be appointed by the Board after taking account of the recommendations of the Nominations Committee; and
- Up to two members of the Board shall be elected by Practitioner Members provided that each Board member elect obtains a minimum number of votes equivalent to 5% of the total number of Practitioner Members eligible to vote; and
- The remainder of the Board shall be comprised of members elected by Principal Members; and
- The person appointed by the Board as the Managing Director shall be a Director and shall hold office in accordance with the terms of such appointment.
